Black Friday for Service Businesses (No Doorbusters)

ROLE: You are a marketing planner for local service businesses. You know a 40%-off doorbuster makes sense for a store clearing stock and makes no sense for someone who sells their own hours. Your job: a Black Friday offer that brings in money or bookings without training customers to wait for a sale. INPUTS (fill in what you know; leave a blank empty rather than guess): - Business: {business} (e.g., Pink's Mobile Car Detailing, a mobile detailer serving Round Rock, Cedar Park and the Austin metro) - Main services and regular prices: {services and prices} - Rough cost to deliver each one (labor, supplies, drive time): {costs} - Our slowest month or weeks next year: {slow season} - Do we sell gift cards, and how: {gift cards} - Who buys from us (homeowners, gift buyers, repeat customers, businesses): {customers} - How we reach customers (email list, social, Google Business Profile, texts): {channels} - Things we won't do (deep discounts, contracts, anything else): {off limits} PROCESS: 1. Write three offers that are not straight discounts, one of each: a. Prepaid package: two or more services bought now at a modest saving, with at least one used during {slow season}. b. Gift card bonus: buy a gift card, get a smaller bonus card for the buyer, good only during {slow season}. c. Priority booking: no discount, just first pick of dates in {slow season} for anyone who books by a deadline. 2. Margin Check for each offer: revenue, cost (from {costs}), profit, and how that compares to selling the same services at full price. Show the math in plain numbers. If a cost is missing, write (add your cost) and skip that line instead of guessing. 3. Pick the offer to lead with and say why in two sentences. Name the one to skip if it loses money. 4. Write the Fine Print in plain words: what it includes, start and end dates, when bonus cards or prepaid services can be used, and what happens if someone doesn't use them. 5. Write the Launch Kit for the lead offer: - An email to past customers: 3 subject lines, and a body under 120 words. - One social post under 60 words. - One Google Business Profile post under 300 characters. - A one-line reminder for Small Business Saturday (Nov 28, 2026). 6. Write a Slow-Season Follow-Up: a short text or email that goes out in early January to everyone who bought, reminding them to book. OUTPUT FORMAT: Headings exactly: Offers, Margin Check, Lead Offer, Fine Print, Launch Kit, Slow-Season Follow-Up. QUALITY CHECKS (run before answering): - Use only the prices and costs I gave you. Never invent a price, a saving or a deadline I didn't approve; use a plain note like (confirm this date). - No "doorbuster," "insane deals," "biggest sale of the year" or fake countdown pressure. - If an offer involves gift cards or prepaid services, add: (check your state's gift card and prepaid-service rules with your accountant or attorney). - Re-check every number in the Launch Kit against the Margin Check and fix any mismatch.

Tip: fill in the {brackets}

Swap every highlighted bit for your real details before you paste. The more specific you are, the less generic the answer.

What it does

Turns your real prices and costs into three Black Friday offers that make sense when you sell time instead of TVs (a prepaid package, a gift card bonus, and priority booking for your slow month), checks what each one costs you, picks the one to lead with, and writes the email, post and Google Business update.

When to use it

Use it by Nov 9 so you have time to set it up. Black Friday is Fri, Nov 27, 2026, and Small Business Saturday is Nov 28.

Example result

Example inputs (service names and prices come from Pink's own gift card page; costs, slow season and channels are made up for this test, not Pink's real numbers or plans): - Business: Pink's Mobile Car Detailing, mobile detailing across the Austin metro, including Round Rock and Cedar Park - Services and prices: Interior Detail from $199; Full Detail from $249; Ceramic Coating from $1,100 (sedan) - Costs (sample): about $90 per Interior Detail, $120 per Full Detail - Slow season (sample): January and February - Gift cards: yes, by request through the website or phone - Customers: homeowners and gift buyers - Channels (sample): email list, Instagram, Google Business Profile - Off limits: nothing over 15% off Example output (from a test run of the prompt above, trimmed): Offers a. Two Full Details, prepaid: $449 (normally $498). Second detail booked between Jan 4 and Feb 26, 2027. b. Gift card bonus: buy a $250 gift card, get a $25 bonus card for yourself, good Jan 4 to Feb 28, 2027. c. First pick of January: book any January detail by Dec 15 and choose your date before the calendar opens. No discount. Margin Check a. Revenue $449, cost $240, profit $209. At full price: $498 revenue, $258 profit. You give up $49 per package and fill a January slot. b. Revenue $250 now. The bonus costs at most $25 in revenue, only if it's used, and only in Jan or Feb. Profit on a $250 gift card spent on one Full Detail: $250 minus $120, or $130, minus up to $25 if the bonus gets used: $105 at worst. c. No discount, so no margin change. The cost is a little admin time. Lead Offer Lead with b, the gift card bonus. It fits gift-buying season, costs you $25 at most, and that $25 only gets spent in the months you'd otherwise be quiet. Offer a to past customers by email only. None of the three loses money, so there's nothing to skip. Fine Print $25 bonus card with any $250 gift card bought Nov 27 to Dec 1, 2026. Bonus card is good Jan 4 to Feb 28, 2027, for any service, one per purchase, and has no cash value. The $250 gift card itself follows our regular gift card terms. (check your state's gift card and prepaid-service rules with your accountant or attorney) Launch Kit Subject lines: "A detail they don't have to drive to" / "Buy a $250 card, keep $25 for yourself" / "The gift that shows up in their driveway" Email: Need a gift for the person who has everything except a clean car? A Pink's Mobile Car Detailing gift card covers any service, and we drive to them anywhere in the Austin metro, from Round Rock to Cedar Park. From Nov 27 to Dec 1, buy a $250 gift card and get a $25 bonus card for yourself, good Jan 4 to Feb 28. Call 512-710-1051 or request one on our site. Social: $250 Pink's gift card = one clean car for them + a $25 bonus card for you (good Jan and Feb). Nov 27 to Dec 1 only. We come to the driveway, they don't lift a finger. Google Business post: Nov 27 to Dec 1: buy a $250 Pink's Mobile Car Detailing gift card, get a $25 bonus card good Jan 4 to Feb 28, 2027. We come to them anywhere in the Austin metro. Call 512-710-1051. Small Business Saturday: Shopping small today? So are we: the $25 gift card bonus runs through Tuesday. Slow-Season Follow-Up (send Jan 4) Your $25 Pink's bonus card is live now through Feb 28. Book a detail at 512-710-1051 and tell us it's for the bonus. Note: this example shows what the prompt produces. Pink's list prices are from its public page; the costs, dates and offers are samples, not the business's real plans.

FAQ

Do I have to discount my services?

No. One offer is priority booking with no discount at all, and the other two (a prepaid package and a gift card bonus) push the cost into your slow season.

What if I don't know my costs?

Leave them blank. The prompt writes (add your cost) and skips that line of the margin math instead of guessing.
