Fix a Bad Answer

Your last answer wasn't right because {what's wrong: too long, too generic, wrong tone, missed the point} (e.g., too generic (e.g., a Facebook post for Round Rock Donuts that never mentioned Round Rock or the 1926 history)). Keep what worked, fix what didn't, and give me a new version. Then tell me in one line what I could add to my prompt next time to get it right the first time.

Tip: fill in the {brackets}

Swap every highlighted bit for your real details before you paste. The more specific you are, the less generic the answer.

What it does

Revises the previous AI answer based on what you say was wrong while keeping the parts that worked. Adds one line explaining what to include in your prompt next time.

When to use it

Use it in an existing conversation when an answer is too long, too generic, off-tone or missing the point.

Example result

Example inputs: - what's wrong: too generic. The AI wrote a Facebook post for Round Rock Donuts that could have been about any donut shop. No mention of Round Rock, the 1926 history, or the hand-rolled glazed donuts. Example output: New version Since 1926, Round Rock has had a donut worth getting up early for. 🍩 Our famous yellow glazed donuts are still hand-rolled, cut, fried and glazed, never machine-made, starting at 4:30am on Liberty Avenue. Swing by the drive-thru on your way in. Glazed or sprinkles, we won't judge. What to add next time Start your prompt with 2–3 things only your business has (the 1926 history, hand-rolled, the Liberty Ave location), and the AI will stop sounding generic.

FAQ

How should I describe what went wrong?

Name the specific problem and identify any parts worth keeping. If length or tone is the issue, state the length or tone you wanted.

Can I use this in a new conversation?

Yes, but include the answer you want revised and explain what was wrong with it. Otherwise, the new conversation will lack the answer this prompt refers to.

Rough Ask to Clear Prompt

I want AI to help with this, but I'm not sure how to ask: {rough idea} (e.g., "help me get more people to my brewery on weeknights" for Slot-T Beer Co., a brewpub in Liberty Hill, TX). Rewrite my request as a clear prompt that says who it's for, what I want, the format, the length and the tone. Ask me up to 3 questions first if anything important is missing.

My Business Context Card

Help me write a short 'about my business' note (e.g., for Comanche Trail Veterinary Center, a veterinarian in Liberty Hill, TX) I can paste at the start of any AI chat. Ask me about: what I sell, who my customers are, where I operate, my prices, my tone of voice, and words I never want used. Then give me the finished note in under 150 words.

Trust Check Before You Use It

Review the answer you just gave me before I use it for {purpose} (e.g., a website service page (e.g., for Firehouse Animal Health Center, a vet in Leander, TX)). List: any facts, numbers or claims I should double-check, anything you guessed or assumed, anything that could embarrass my business or break a rule, and what's missing. Be blunt.
